Catherine McLennan (Bachelor of Education, Diploma of Teaching, Certificate in Understanding Human Behaviour, Certificate in English as a Second Language) has been teaching since 1986. She has taught at both the primary and secondary level in several schools in Sydney and has held the positions of classroom teacher, ESL/Resource teacher, English/Drama teacher, Teacher in charge of Drama and more recently Teacher /Librarian. Catherine continues to teach part time in schools to maintain rapport with students and to keep abreast of current educational trends.
Full time teaching is no longer an option as she is busy developing the Readwell program and increasing its profile so that students in need have access to it.
Catherine has always been fascinated by the reading process and has always sought to help those children who are struggling with their reading.
Since becoming involved with the Readwell System in 1996 Catherine has worked face to face with close to five hundred students in Sydney and the Illawarra and has employed several other teachers to help her meet the growing demand for this literacy program.
Catherine has total faith in the system and believes that it is the answer for students who are struggling with the reading process.
Her challenge for the future is to develop the program further and to make it readily available to as many students who need help.
She is looking for franchisees who are committed to dramatically improving the reading ability of both children and adults .
